STOLEN CAR W/EQUIPMENT

On Monday, August 29th Justin Ratowsky, local working musician and surfer went to surf at the Cliffs off of Pacific Coast Highway and Goldenwest in Huntington Beach. After getting into the water, his car was stolen along with all of his musical equipment and instruments. Police found his car on 15th and Orange, but all of the equipment he uses every day to perform live music gigs had been taken.

This list includes: Breedlove AD25/SR Guitar, Black Lanikai Acoustic Electric Ukulele, Crate CA-30 Acoustic Guitar Amp, Yamaha Keyboard, 2 Mackie SRM-450 PA Speakers, 2 Realistic Monitor Speakers, Shure SM-58 Microphone, Guitar Stands, 1/8in, Power, and XLR Cables, Microphone Stands, and Keyboard Stand.

Insurance will only cover personal items, but it only covers up to $250 for business items. The stolen equipment totaled close to $10,000. If you see any of these musical items for sale on Craigslist, Ebay, etc... please contact justin@listentojustin.com

Any monetary or musical equipment donations would be greatly appreciated to help Justin replace some of those items and keep playing!

Tuesday Farmer's Market in Huntington Beach

Tonight's market was such a success. My parents made it out for the session, I had my new yellow director's chair, and I got to jam with some awesome local musicians. A lot can happen when you bring a djembe drum to a jam session on main street.

I also went shopping with t-mo and Cacie at HSS for a couple pair of new sun-glasses. It took about an hour to pick out the right ones. I got some hobie and arnetts. I also talked to the manager at HSS today about getting my music played in the store!! Apparently, he recognized me from a Christmas Morning South side paddle out at the pier.

After the Market my parents and I got some dank fish tacos at Fred's and then we went to Bella Terra to see Avatar.Pretty trippy. I definitely kept the glasses :)

It Is Time

Time to manifest to the world that I am following my passion for creating and performing music.  I will be recording a 9 song EP in LA beginning on Friday June 27th.

The songs I will be recording for the demo are as follows:

1. The Birds
2. Relative
3. Look to the Stars
4. Generation
5. Slow Down
6. Gone
7. Just Another Beautiful Day
8. I Want to Love You
9. Why

Music has the power to free our minds.  Its frequency can bring back memories evoking emotions from past experiences proving that moments last forever. Life is full of ups and downs, but its the rising and falling that make us who we are. Music is along for the ride.  Our experiences change our values, help us to construct new dreams, and motivate us to continue to work towards this endless struggle for acceptance.  As we continue to live life to the fullest, loving life, exploring nature and reaching endless bounds of freedom and expression, we begin to open up new channels that have been waiting for us.  While some experiences lead us in the direction of our dreams others will teach us lessons on how to get there.  This is life in raw form.  Riding the waves of eternal chemistry.

I can only be honest with my life and with my art.  I make karmacal music.  I will continue to put the positive energy out, and I can only HOPE that the world will continue to send back the love.

     Peloaceve,
(Peace and Love)
